High School Launches New Hairdressing Training Centre with Francesco Group and Wightwick Partnership.

Codsall High school has launched a brand new hairdressing training centre, in association with Francesco Group and Wightwick Partnership.

As part of a new initiative, Francesco Group and Wightwick Partnership have partnered up with Codsall High School to give students from year 10 and 11 access to vocational courses. The scheme aims to serve the needs of 14-16 year old students in more rural areas of Staffordshire, who have previously been unable to gain easy access to the further education colleges at the larger local towns.

The new hairdressing training centre is a purpose built training salon, featuring state of the art salon furnishings, back-washes and products supplied by Wella Professionals. This centre is sponsored by Wella Professionals, who fully support and endorse the partnership and its commitment to ongoing hairdressing training. The majority of training will take place in the centre, providing maximum practical experience on site. The students will be aiming to achieve the City and Guilds NVQ Level 1 hairdressing qualification.

Codsall High School and Francesco Group hope that the introduction of the new training centre will encourage students in the area to pursue into post-16 hairdressing qualifications.

The official launch was held on Friday 25th January 2008 and included a speech from the Francesco Group’s founder, Francesco Dellicompagni; Wella representative Paul Oscroft and the school’s Headmistress, Marjorie Tunnicliffe. There was also a ribbon cutting and full tour of the new academy.
