FG Cheltenham’s Lisa Walby
Hopes to take home Franchisee of the Year
for the 2nd Year Running!
Lisa Walby, from Francesco Group in Cheltenham, was named as one of the country’s brightest hairdressing business stars after winning Franchisee of the Year at the Hairdressers Journal’s British Hairdressing Business Awards 2018.
This year she has achieved a spot as a Finalist in the same category and is hoping to take home the award for a second year running. After spending the last year continuing to examine herself and her business, she has put into place further developments to ensure that herself and her team continue to thrive. Lisa hopes these improvements will help her to take home the 2019 award.
We spoke to Lisa about why she wanted to be in the running after taking the prize home last year and how it felt when she received her award.
Why did you decide to go for Franchisee of the Year for the second year running?
Lisa – I wanted the challenge to try and better what I did last year; I’m constantly trying to re-evaluate myself and improve myself. By entering again I knew it would encourage me to evaluate what I’ve done in the last year and take stock of what I’ve achieved.
Lisa Walby WINS Franchisee of the Year 2018
How did it feel when you won it last year?
Lisa – It was absolutely amazing and it felt fabulous to be recognised nationally. I was especially pleased that I got to represent FG as a leading franchise company. It was such an honour.
What are the biggest improvements that you’ve seen in yourself over the last year?
Lisa – I’ve really been working on self-evaluation and I’m constantly looking at what I can do personally to improve how I manage my team, how I can have a happier team and a more productive team.
What makes a successful Franchisee?
Lisa – I think it’s being resourceful in yourself; self-awareness, constantly trying to improve on everything, questioning everything that you do and seeking best-practise in all that you possibly can.
Lisa’s passion for her craft and her team is evident in everything that she does, and we wish her the best of luck at the 2019 ceremony, which takes place on Monday 9th September in London.
