HOW TO
DITCH THE STRAIGHTENERS& Go Heat Free this Summer!
This summer is all about embracing and enhancing your natural hair texture; the perfect time to ditch the straighteners and give your hair a rest from heat damage.
That may seem like a scary prospect, but we have put together a list of everything you need to know before the straighteners go into hibernation for the summer.
YOU WOKE UPLike This!
If you have naturally straight hair, the easiest way to get a heat-free waves is to set your hair overnight. Spray damp hair with L’Oréal Professionnel Tecni Art Beach Waves and twist the hair into two large buns (we’re talking serious Princess Leia vibes) then when you wake up in the morning, remove the buns and stare lovingly at your gorgeous loose waves!

For a tighter wave, add a small amount of L’Oréal Professionnel Tecni Art Fix to damp hair and separate into two sections. Starting at the crown of your head, French-Braid both sections into two tight plaits. In the morning, remove the braids and carefully finger comb.
STAYStraight
The key to sleek hair, regardless of texture, is to make sure it’s moisturised. We advise using a deep conditioning treatment on your hair once a week to maintain and restore your hair’s vitality. Products from Kérastase’s Discipline range are the perfect choice to keep your hair frizz-free.

EMBRACEthe Natural Curl
The ideal way to create frizz-free natural curls is to create a curl pattern through twisting the hair whilst it’s damp and then letting the curls dry naturally. The less you touch your hair whilst it’s drying, the more defined the curl!
There are a number of products you can use on naturally curly & afro hair; we recommend products from Avlon’s True Texture range as well as a few items from the Kérastase Discipline range.

SHAMPOOis Not Your Friend
If you’re in a warm, humid climate, you will probably want to shower and wash your hair more often than usual, but frequent hair washing will strip away moisture, leaving hair looking frizzy and fried instead of sleek.
Instead of washing, we recommend using L’Oréal Professionnel Vitamino 10-in-1 Perfecting Multi-Purpose Spray, which conditions locks, revitalises hair, making it smooth and shiny whilst also enhancing the colour. If you’re feeling a build-up of oil on your hair, try L’Oreal Tecni Art Volume Morning After Dust Dry Shampoo, resulting in a shiny, oil-free refreshed style.
