Welcome to the Dark Side!

WELCOME TO THE
Dark Side!

Pumpkins, dark nights, falling leaves and woolly jumpers; these are just a few of the things we associate with autumn, alongside that natural desire to add warmth to our hair, as the days begin to cool. If you have the urge to deepen your colour, this is the season that people usually take the leap.

In the spirit of the spooky season, we want to celebrate the darkest of all the hair colours… Black. It’s a shade for the daring & bold and if it suits you, no other colour will ever compare. Morticia Addams and her black hair, name a more iconic duo… it’s not possible!

PAINT IT
Black!

Black is usually best suited to a cooler skin tone and a daring personality! Although dyeing your hair black is a big commitment, it does give your hair an incomparable shine. Darker colours tend to reflect light, whereas lighter colours absorb the light. Darker hair also gives the appearance of thicker and denser hair, so if you have thinner hair, you would benefit from dying it black. Black hair also acts as a natural way to highlight your features. Eye colour can be highlighted with black hair and certain hairstyles look much more striking with black hair; Bobs, wedge cuts, and geometric cuts are emphasised when a person’s hair colour is black.

If you tend to be a bit changeable when it comes to colour, we recommend asking your stylist to use a semi-permanent colour; ensuring that you have the ability to go lighter far easier, when you want to make a change. If you decide to go for a permanent colour, it requires a colour correction service and you will need to go on a colour journey to slowly get yourself lighter again, whilst maintaining your hair’s vitality. But it’s important to note that once you go black, you CAN go back!

SERVICE
Time

Depending on your current hair colour, to achieve black locks you would need to book in for a Full Head Colour Service, which usually lasts around two hours. After your service, it is essential to avoid light coloured towels and pillows, as the colour can stain initially!

MONEY
Piece

Why not add a Money Piece to the front of the hair? This is a colour lighter than your base colour, perfect if you would like to add more depth to your cool brunette shade. Money Pieces are the Geri Halliwell look of the 1990s repackaged for 2019, with sleek Babylights to soften the effect, whilst still achieving a bold, statement look

Beyoncé recently revealed her Money Piece on Instagram, so you know it is going to be the next big hair trend!
