Throughout the Covid-19 Pandemic, it has been our foremost priority to protect the health and wellbeing of our Apprentices, Staff and Clients and we want to take this time to reassure our Apprentices and their families, that we have the strictest health and safety procedures in place to protect them and our Educators, whilst they are attending our Academies. Since the end of March, we have been maintaining Apprentices’ learning through comprehensive online lessons/workshops and Educators have been available to fully support all learners and carry out regular Apprentice reviews. The Apprenticeship Team have now contacted all apprentices and employers that are required to return to the Academy on 15th June and we confirm we have put in place the following safety measures to help prevent the spread of Coronavirus:
Group Sizes Group sizes will be reduced and one consistent Educator to teach each group for the remainder of the course or until Covid-19 restrictions are lifted.
Allocated Space Allocated classrooms/practical space and toilet/washroom for each Group.
Social Distancing Social Distancing Guidelines will be enforced, with Apprentices’ sections and work surfaces spaced appropriately and staggered break times.
Disinfecting Every Apprentice and Educator will disinfect their work station after their morning and end of day sessions and all classrooms will be disinfected each evening by cleaning staff. Frequently used door handles have had antibacterial film installed.
PPE All Apprentices and Educators will be provided with all relevant PPE - including gloves, masks, aprons, hand sanitiser and tissues. With additional PPE items readily available to replenish as required. Masks will be used and Educators will utilise visor’s if 2m distancing can not be adhered to.
Own Equipment Apprentices and Educators will provide and use their own equipment for practical and theory use (this includes all hairdressing equipment and stationery).
Communal Laptops Communal laptops available on site will be disinfected before and after each use.
Bring Packed Lunches Educators and Apprentices will be required to bring their own packed lunch and snacks to reduce cross contamination from visiting public shops/areas.
Covid Symptoms Any Apprentice or Educator displaying symptoms of Covid-19 must NOT attend the Academy, advise their assigned Educator and follow the Government self isolation guidelines.
